Y6 France Residential
Our Year 6 French explorers are on their way to France! We are very excited to be travelling by ferry across the Channel to Calais
Year 6 have arrived at the beautiful chateau after a smooth ferry crossing. Everyone is settling into their new accommodation
Our year 6 travellers started early today. After breakfast, we went on a tour of Rue and enjoyed time shopping in the market. Many sweets and key rings were purchased and we even tried out some French words!
One of the best activities we do on our French adventure is when we go to the beach Children having fun, playing together.
A completely new experience for most of our Pioneer Year 6 - a visit to a snail farm! We learnt all about snail farming, got to hold snails, but most importantly, most of us were adventurous and tried eating snails!!
Fantastic day out in Paris with our Pioneer Year 6s. First, we experienced the amazing views from the Montparnasse Tower, then we had our lunch by the iconic Eiffel Tower. Next, was an amazing boat trip along the River Seine watching the Parisien landmarks pass by. It was also exciting to the see the preparations for the Summer Olympics start to take shape.
As we begin the journey home, our Pioneer Learning Trust staff would like to say a huge well done to the French Pioneers from Year 6 for a fabulous 4 days in France . The children represented their schools amazingly and threw themselves into the French culture with great enthusiasm! A well-earnt rest is now on the cards for all involved...they'll be grateful to sleep past 7am tomorrow!
